Big Things are Happening

Filed in: Entrepreneur

In the past few weeks there’s been a lot of things going with Pure Adapt. We are about to take the next major step as a company. I have to say I’m ecstatic about everything happening.

First we will be moving into our warehouse. Our warehouse that is over 5000 square feet and located in Guilderland, NY. Pure Adapt now has an official location. This is a major stepping stone for us and we have lots of room to expand as we grow the company. George did a great job finding this place for a fantastic price per square foot.

TastefullyDriven.com launch is coming soon. We’ve been working our asses on development and planning it for launch on April 1, 2008. We still have lots to do, but the majority of the design and development is completed. At the same time our to do list grows, because the site is so big we find more things that need attention before launch. More recently our main task was picking our product lines and finding suppliers. Personally I have to say working on picking the product line has been pretty exciting. The product search has been gone pretty well and we’ve heard back from many of the major vendors that we wanted to work with. There was only one category of products that we struggled with. I’m also very excited about the big plans we have for a pre-launch of TastefullyDriven.com to hype it up for 4.1.08 launch date. One thing we already started is our contest for $100 gift certificate. You can sign up for updates and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate now at Tastefully Driven.com.

With all these things going on, everyone in the company is making sacrifices to take our company to the next level. Everyone is working hard and taking a temporary pay cut so we can reinvest that money back into the company. We all agreed on this decision and it going save us lots of money. We’re not only saving the money from the pay cut, it saves us money on our taxes and payroll fees.

Client work is close to being finished, Pure Adapt is on a roll, Detailed Image continues it’s growth and Tastefully Driven is coming soon, how can I not be excited. Let me reiterate big things are happening.

A Unique Solution

Filed in: Entrepreneur

There’s been a lot going on this week and problems always need solutions. We’re web development/e-commerce company and obviously we need internet access. We just signed the lease to our warehouse and plan on moving in about a week. George has been on top things taking care most things associated with the warehouse and one thing was the internet. Working with Time Warner Cable we found out it would cost us $4,000 and run a cable to our warehouse space.

Are you kidding me, we already knew it was going to be $200 month for business class and now an additional $4000 to run the cable to our space. They did offer a contract for five years at $300 a month to cover of the service and installation, but there’s no way we’re going to pay that. To top it off, business class is way more expensive than home service for roughly the same speeds.

No Internet access is major problem, our company can’t function without it. The solution we came up with was to use a mobile broadband card with a compatible router. With a little research we’re this solution existed and we found it, because it would’ve cost us a lot of money going with Time Warner. This is the wireless card and router combo we found.

What does this solution mean? It means we save a butte load of money. Our monthly cost has gone down to $60 a month and we got the router for free after rebate. Read more about this from Adam’s Blog.

The more I think of this solution, it may also be a my future solution for Internet access as well. It’s a multitasker, you can use it with your router and use it for your laptop when you’re out and about.
