The charity that I have selected this month is the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in response to the floods that have affected some 20 million people now in Pakistan.

This is Pakistan’s worst flooding in 80 years with millions of people losing their homes, crops and livestock in this disaster. What is the IRC doing? The IRC is delivering the necessities like blankets, clean water, shelter, sanitation, health care to the people in need. Another very important thing that the IRC is doing is working on preventing the outbreak of waterborne diseases.

The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster.

The new and improved Detailed Image homepage has arrived. It wasn’t too long ago since our last homepage design but after taking a few steps backwards in that design we started a new homepage to return to our roots as an ecommerce site with a design that is up to par with the rest of the site.

Using the CSS image swap I posted about back in February you can hover over the above image to see some of the key design features we implemented. Some highlights of the new design include CSS3 @font-face and drop shadows which was nice because we had the opportunity to try CSS3. Ultimately the new design should convert better with the focus on selling products then content.
