Chemical Guys Sale Halloween Style

Filed in: Design,Web Design

In the spirit of Halloween, Detailed Image presents to you scary savings on Chemical Guys products. A Chemical Guys sale works right into the frightful nights October with it’s badass skull logo. Starting with a logo like that, the creativity is flowing right from the get go.

As a designer you go in with an idea and sometimes you get something unexpected and way cooler. That is what happened to me with the design of this Chemical Guys sale. While working on it I noticed I could make a glowing effect with it’s eyes and I rolled with that. I like how everything came out, especially the glowing eyes on the sale navigation tab. Save on great Chemical Guys products like Stripper Scent and much more. Happy Halloween!!

My Monthly Charity October 2010

Filed in: Charity,My Monthly Charity

It’s all about Pink this month. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it’s been the cause I’ve featured in my October Monthly Charity the past 3 years because this cause is near and dear to me. Again Susan G. Komen for the Cure will be featured in My Monthly Charity.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest and most progressive movement in the fight against breast cancer at all stages. See my previous post about Susan G. Komen or visit http://ww5.komen.org/ for information on what they do and how you can help in the fight against breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen for Cure

The pink ribbon is everywhere and the NFL has dedicated the entire month to breast cancer with pink gloves, cleats, pompoms and much more. Check out some pictures from PicApp of all the pink in the NFL this month.

Macy’s Newsletter Coupon Code

Filed in: Email Marketing

Macy’s did a great job of presenting their coupon code in a recent email without compromising the design. The majority of the design is graphic but the coupon code is text. The coupon code can now be copied making it easier for users to use the coupon code. Making the coupon code copyable in the design prevents users from failing to enter the correct coupon code and streamline the checkout process.

Macy's Newsletter Coupon Code

This is a great example of something simple that clears a possible roadblock during the checkout process.

In our email designs we tend to stray away from using text and sticking to graphics in our emails to get cross email program integrity, but Macy’s email got me thinking how simple it can be to incorporate it into the design. It will certainly be on my to do list to better present our coupon codes in a copyable manner. Simply adding into our email preheader should solve the problem or getting it in a way similar to what Macy’s did works great.

Design of 24 Ways

Filed in: Design Inspiration,Web Design,Web Development

Design Inspiration

24 Ways To Impress Your Friends inspiration stems from it’s unique calendar styled navigational layout. The hover effects throughout the layout gives it an interactive feeling while layers and transparency effects add a level complexity. When you put all that together you get cool functional user experience.

The navigation stands out to me the most and makes me rethink the possibilities of a site navigation.

Not only is the design inspirational, the site is all about web design and development. Since 2005 the site has been featuring 24 posts about design and development from different writers during the holidays.

24 ways is the advent calendar for web geeks. Each day throughout December we publish a daily dose of web design and development goodness to bring you all a little Christmas cheer.

24 Ways to Impress Your Friends

The navigation makes the design and only posting during Christmas makes for a very creative unique website. Check the site out now at http://24ways.org/.

Water Bobble

Filed in: Green

Allow me to introduce to you one of the greatest and greenest water bottles ever, the Bobble. The Bobble has its very own built in carbon filter. It’s made from 100% recycled PET and 100% recyclable. It’s also BPA free, so no worries there. The Bobble is saving the planet one bottle at a time.

Water Bobble filtered water bottle

Take plain old tap water which is better than the unregulated bottled water industry, fill your Bobble and let the built carbon filter remove all the organic contaminants. The Bobble meets or exceeds NSF International Standard 42 for chlorine, taste and odor reduction. Lasting up to 2 months or 40 gallons which roughly equals 300 bottles, it can make one hell of an impact on water bottle consumption. Think about the difference this smart bottle can make, one water bobble can go a long way with about 299 less water bottles consumed per Bobble.

Water Bobble Features

Starting at $8.95 a bottle and available in an assortment of colors, it’s way more cost effective than bottled water. I wrote Ditch the Bottle Water a little while back in favor of a reusable water bottle. The Bobble is another smart alternative to bottled water. It’s reusable, recyclable, and it filters.

Learn more about the Bobble at waterbobble.com or buy now at http://store.waterbobble.com/store/items.
