The organization that I’ve selected this month is the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative neurological disorder affecting people as early as 18 years old, but generally more significant in older people. One in 100 people are affected by this disease over 60 years of age. The face of the organization of Michael J. Fox, best known for me in Back to the Future, Spin City and as Dr. Kevin Kasay in Scrubs, has been leading the fight against Parkinson’s disease. He has been fighting the disease himself for 20 years now and believes the cure will be found.
Our Mission
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today. We believe without fail that our goal is within reach – but we can’t get there without your support. Please join the fight today. ~ About Us – Our Mission – Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
Earlier this month Michael J Fox, The Michael J Fox Foundation, eBay and Nike teamed up for a unique fund-raising campaign where they put up 1500 of pairs of Marty McFly’s Nike MAGs for auction with proceeds going to the MJF Foundation. The shoes from the future have arrived, what an awesome fund-raising campaign.
Unfortunately this blog post is going up after the auctions have ended, but you can find out how you can help in the fight against Parkinson’s disease at MichaelJFox.org.

Pure Adapt has a newly redesigned website and it’s first official job offering. It’s an exciting time as we embark in our search for the next Pure Adapt employee.
Redesign
The Pure Adapt website has never really come into play for our business, but with a new job offering our site needed a revamp to present to our potential candidates. With the recent release of HTML5 and CSS3 we had to push these new standards and features into our redesign. Another thing that is relatively new that we incorporated into our design was a responsive design that adjusts accordingly to your screen size. Try it out yourself, go to PureAdapt.com and resize your browser screen and watch how the site changes. Coming soon I will have more detailed posts about HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design techniques used in the website redesign. Overall everything came out fantastic as the sum of the parts from each one of the owners came together to build a better and complete Pure Adapt website.
Job Offering
Now to the job that we’re offering. This will be one of Pure Adapt’s most important hires. He or she will be number five and I’ve always said this is our most important hire. The position that we are offering is the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support Specialist for DetailedImage.com. This hire is going to be vital to our company as Detailed Image is growing beyond what our current staff can handle. We offer a great opportunity to work with an up and coming company with benefits and flexibility. If you’re in the Upstate New York area and interested check out career page at PureAdapt.com/careers/ for more details.
Again these are exciting times as we grow and continue to hit new levels every day. Stay tuned for more about the redesign of PureAdapt.com.

The much anticipated Italian designer limited-time line of Missoni products launched at Target the other day creating a Black Friday-like rush that crashed Target.com. That is one impressive product line launch Target had if it rivaled Black Friday activities. In stores people lined up to get Missoni and shelves were empty within hours.
I personally never heard of Missoni but the fact that the activity was even close to comparable to the biggest shopping day of the year is pretty amazing. To add to the impressiveness of this launch is that their website wasn’t prepared for it either. The numbers visiting Target.com during the launch must have been through the roof, I mean it’s Target.com.
This reminds me of one of our former records sales day we had a few years ago at DetailedImage.com that completely caught us off guard on how successful the sale we ran was as our site temporarily went in and out of commission. I can see how that happened us as a small growing company but Target crashing for one new popular product line is shocking to me since I assume they would already be prepared for a holiday rush so the demand for Missoni must have been truly unprecedented. Nonetheless I think the Missoni at Target partnership had a successful launch since they almost cleared out inventory in one day for a planned one month limited-time exclusive on the line.
