The Expendables

Filed in: Movies

Quick post about this movie, The Expendables, coming out in 2010 with a freaking crazy action packed cast. The cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, the Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis just to name the ones that stood out to me. Is there any other major action hero from the last 20 -30 years that’s not part of this cast other than Van Damme and The Rock? Check the trailer out.

The action is looking good and it’s hard to pass on a cast like this but we’ll see what’s up when it comes out.

PicApp has just made life easier for bloggers and web content creators with their innovative news and stock photo website. All their images are free and legal for you to use. This is super convenient to bloggers looking for images for their posts. With PicApp there’s no more worries on finding free and legal photos to use.

The picture below from PicApp of Larry Fitzgerald comes from a game that was played just earlier today between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks. When you use a PicApp image it also offers thumbnails of additional images and the option for others to embed the image.

PicApp is easy to use. All you have to do is search for the image you desire, click on it, then copy and paste the code into your blog. PicApp has also partnered up with some major content providers like Getty Images, Corbis, Pacific Coast News, and Newscom just to name a few, to bring you premium images. On top of all that PicApp is always updating with new content as you can see from the Larry Fitzgerald image from a game that finished no more than a few hours ago.

For funsies lets search for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and embed some images. I got a badass picture of Optimus Prime and the stunning Meagan Fox.

The only downside is that the image code automatically links back to the image at PicApp, but that’s nothing that can’t be changed with a little HTML editing. (Update: The link must stay intact, it’s part of their terms)

Worry free image use, what more can you ask for. When you’re looking for stock images or up to date news images I think you got start at PicApp.

Watchmen Protection

Filed in: Marketing,Movies

The count down to the new Watchmen movie from the visionary director of “300” is winding down and only  a few weeks away. As the release date nears, you’ll start to notice it everywhere as they hype up the movie.

Earlier this week I read about an unusual promotional product for the upcoming movie.  It was a matchbook that had a blue condom in it with the quote “We’re Society’s Only Protection“.  Get it, get it… that’s an awesome promotional product.  I first saw this on

You can be just like Dr. Manhattan in color, at least in one area.

I personally think this is a great marketing ploy and I would love to get my hands on one.  Whether you like it or not, something controversial like this will usually get some buzz.  From a marketing standpoint I think it gets the job done creating a buzz from lovers and haters.

The excitement for the movie is building and I’m looking forward to seeing this graphic novel on the big screen.

The Dark Knight

Filed in: Movies

The Dark Knight

To kick off my movie section I’m going to have start one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. I made a special trip down to an IMAX theater 3 hours away to see the Batman The Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight - Batman, Joker, Harvey Dent

This movie was simply sensational all around. I loved the movie and I was on the edge of my seat the entire 2 1/2 hours, the fastest 2 1/2 hours ever. The acting was captivating, in particular the Joker played by Heath Ledger. The Joker was a straight up cruel and sadistic character that you can’t get out of your head. I can’t emphasize enough how great Heath Ledger played Joker from the way he licked his lips every time he spoke to the the demented stories on how he got his scars. Christian Bale has brought the dark super hero back and it’s better than ever. As usual Morgan Freeman was nothing short of top notch. Aaron Eckhart played Harvey Dent and Two-Face perfect. Great performance across the board with the highest video quality out there from IMAX and some of the best action scenes I’ve ever seen.

There are so many memorable scenes through out the movie, I can’t wait to watch it again and list some of my favorites.

This was easily a top 10 movie of all time for me and seems to be on roll as it shatters records and takes aim towards the highest grossing movie of all time Titanic (I haven’t seen it and don’t plan to). This is a must see movie just to witness the memorable performance by Heath Ledger. I will probably watch it again in the theater one more time.
